Positively Ballroom Dance Studio is looking for new team members. Prior dance/fitness/sports experience is a plus but NOT required. Training will be provided. We are looking for upbeat and enthusiastic people to train and become part time and full time Latin and Ballroom Dance instructors. Our purpose: Everyday, we strive to bring joy to people's lives through dance and to create an atmosphere where each and every student feels like they are welcome and at home in our dance community. The growth of our clients is our number one priority and we are looking for members to join our team with that purpose.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

 

  • Help create a fun and inviting learning environment.

  • Provide quality ballroom dance instruction using our dance studio curriculum.

  • Work with students of multiple levels and abilities, at times within the same group, evaluating student performance and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Retain and grow the student base by providing exceptional customer service and individualized needs-based solutions to clients.

  • Work closely with management to increase student referral and development opportunities.

  • Satisfactorily complete our on-the-job dance instructor training program, and continually progress through our dance instructor certifications.

  • Schedule and plan private lessons and group classes.

  • Maintain student progress and assignment records.

  • Participate in studio events and social functions, in and out of the studio.

  • Dance with your students at studio showcases, competitions, and mini-matches.

  • Attend regular studio meetings and training sessions.

 

Other:

 

  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

 

  • No previous collegiate-level dance training is required; 2 years of previous collegiate-level dance training is preferred.

  • No previous experience as a dance instructor is required; 1 year of previous experience is preferred.

  • Passion for dancing, especially ballroom dancing, is required.

  • Must be able to engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.

  • Friendly, positive, and outgoing personality, dedicated to helping others, with great customer service and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to communicate with a diverse group of teachers and students.

  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work both independently and in a team environment to meet student goals, with minimal coaching or supervision.

  • Must be responsible, punctual, organized and ethical.

  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, late afternoon and evening hours and Saturday, daytime and evenings hours.

  • Must be willing to travel on occasion.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • A strong sense of professionalism about all aspects of the job, including appearance and demeanor.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk with and hear teachers and students. This position requires standing, walking, and dancing for long periods of time, which may involve significant bending, twisting, spinning, stretching and lifting. The ability to lift forty (40) pounds or more is required. The ability to work nights and weekends as requested on occasion is required. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time.

Salary: $10.00 to $24.00 /hour, plus sales commission
